My core goal is to help your family reach the dream of home ownership as smoothly as possible with the best rate possible. I do not work for the bank, I work for you by shopping our stable of wholesale lenders.

If you read my short bio, below, you’ll know I’ve bought, sold, and refinanced many homes in the past, so I know how stressful it can be.  Having someone there to help explain the process and being available to answer questions would have relieved much of the stress and anxiety of the mortgage process, and I will provide that level of service to you.

I moved to NC in 1992 following college and worked for many years with the Town of Carrboro.  My wife, Barbara, and I were youth ministers at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC, and later Minister of Music at Joy Baptist Church in Siler City, NC.  We raised two daughters who graduated Northwood High School in Chatham County.  Our oldest daughter attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, and later graduated from UNC Greensboro.  Our youngest daughter graduated UNC Dental School.  We now have four grandsons and one granddaughter.

In 2006 it became necessary to move to WV to take care of my elderly parents.  During this time, I took rigorous courses in risk management, asset accumulation, wealth management, and estate planning and attained the designation of Financial Services Specialist.  I also received my Bachelor Degree from West Virginia University in business and communication.  I worked at an independent insurance brokerage where we used multiple carriers to meet our clients’ needs. If the rates went up in one company, we turned to other companies to find our clients the best combination of coverage and rates.

With a lifelong interest in real estate and lending, combined with our longing to get back down to these Carolina blue skies, closer to our grandchildren, the opportunity came to join the family at Carolina Home Mortgage.  Being an independent brokerage is what won me over, one where I focus on my clients’ needs while offering the best rates available.

If you are thinking about buying a home in North Carolina please give me a call for a stress-free, no-obligation conversation about your mortgage options.
